Web design for electricians in Halifax and Nova Scotia
I build websites for electricians in Halifax and across Nova Scotia, and an electrician's site is in build with me right now. In September 2026 I researched the websites of 130 electricians around Halifax. Most were missing the pages that get an electrician found for one job in one town.
What did the electrician websites around Halifax have in common?
Of 130 electricians listed on Google around Halifax, 37 had no website at all.
Of the 68 sites where I could check every page, 47 had no page for any town they work in. Of 80, 30 had no page for any single service.
68 of 89 had no call button in the header on a phone, and 52 of 78 had none of the business code that tells Google who and where they are.
None of that is about looks. They're the parts of a site that decide whether Google shows it for "panel upgrade Dartmouth", and whether the person who finds it can call you in one tap.
What should an electrician's website have?
A page for each job you want more of: panel upgrades, pot lights, EV charger installs, generators, whatever your work is. Written in the words people here use: pot lights, a plug, the fuse box, NS Power.
Price ranges or, at least, what changes the price. Electricians around here mostly publish no prices and no common questions, so a site that does stands out.
A way to reach you that works when you're up a ladder. A form that only lands in your inbox waits until evening; the homeowner keeps calling around until someone answers. Missed-call text-back fixes that.
One clear contact form, not two stacked on the same page, and every link going somewhere useful.
What about permits and rebates?
If your site mentions a permit rule, a rebate or a deadline, read the official page the day you write it and put that date on your page. When I researched rebates for an electrician's site, details changed within two days of being written down.
What can I show you?
One electrician's site is in build. I'll name it here once it's live and the owner says yes. Until then, the live trades sites I can show you are a landscaper's in Liverpool and a moving company's in Halifax.
Questions electricians ask
- Should an electrician publish prices?
- A range, or at least what changes the price. Most electrician sites around Halifax publish neither, so the one that does answers the question everyone has before they call.
- Do I need a separate page for EV chargers or generators?
- If you want more of that work, yes. Someone searching for an EV charger install is looking for a page about EV charger installs, not a list of everything you do.
- Where do your electrician numbers come from?
- My own research in September 2026: the websites of electricians listed on Google around Halifax, checked page by page. No business is named, and each share counts only the sites where the check could be read in full.
Where next?
See what a website costs on the pricing page, or read why a trades website needs a page for each service.
I work with trades in Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Lower Sackville, Cole Harbour, Truro and Liverpool.
Other trades: Plumbers, Landscapers, HVAC.
